One of the favourites to win the competition face probably one of the biggest outsiders in Denmark at 5pm GMT today in what should be a great match to open Group B.
Holland are many people’s favourites to go on and win the trophy, especially after their World Cup final appearance against Spain. They have a hugely talented squad and personally I can’t wait to see the likes of Van Persie, Sneider, Robben and more lining up on the field. I’m also excited at the prospect of watching the highly regarded Danish midfielder Erikssen, who plays his trade for Ajax and is tipped for a big move after the Euro’s to one of Europe’s top clubs.
Holland have a couple of defensive concerns with Mathijsen ruled out through injury, meaning Bouma or Vlaar is likely to come in at the centre of defence alongside Everton’s Heitinga. Meanwhile Denmark are missing their top keeper Sorenson and so Andersen will take his place between the sticks.
Lets hope for another great match in what has so far been an excellent tournament to watch, I’m hoping for plenty of goals and lost of fast paced attacking, probably coming from the Dutch who will want to kick their tournament off with a flyer in what will be a very difficult group. They’ll want to pick up 3 points here, as games with Germany and Portugal are unlikely to be an easy ride.
