A huge game today in the importance of this years Premier League race with Man City heading to St James Park to face a Newcastle side who’re on top form after a brilliant 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge earlier in the week.
Man City are in bouyant form themselves having beat title rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium, moving them to the top of the table on goal difference. Man City will need to beat Newcastle to remain on course for the title, as Man United host Swansea later in the afternoon.
Newcastle are still looking to finish as high up the table as possible and they themselves have much to play for still, and Alan Pardew has moulded a great team together during his time at the club so City will have to be playing at their best if they do want to take 3 points away from the match.
If Man City win here at Newcastle then it all but seems that the title will be theres for the first time in their history in the Premier League, as United are trailing by about 9 goals on goal difference – meaning they would have to beat Swansea by about 8 goals and then beat Sunderland by 2 or 3 again next week. Man City will play QPR next week in their final game, at home, in a game which looks like a certain 3 points.
Both sides have a near full strength squad to pick from for this game, and it should be a great game between Newcastle vs Man City, with most of Manchester watching it, hoping either for a Newcastle or a City win, depending if you’re a red or a blue…
