West Ham appoint Slaven Bilic as new Manager

Good news for all Hammers fans today with the announcement that Croatian Slaven Bilic will take over as boss at West Ham following Sam Allardyce’s departure at the end of last season.

The news was announced minutes ago on the West Ham website and means that Bilic’s few weeks of unemployment since leaving Besiktas at the end of last season will end.

Bilic did play for the Hammers for a short spell, being the then club-record signing at £1.3 million when Harry Redknapp snapped him up. He was voted player of the year and was called up to the Croatian national side too, before being signed by Everton manager Joe Royle for £4.5 million – another club record fee.

Hammers fans should be delighted with the appointment of Bilic, who in turn should be able to attract some more talent to the London club, where he hopes to continue the excellent work carried out by Big Sam.
